This is how the concert started and it was AWESOME!! It takes a minute of just the scenery, but then the show will blow you away!

Thanks to my sweet husband who told me I was going this year because last year was "phenom". We had so much fun and I am really glad I went with him. We invited Jen and her "friend" Richy and we had a blast with them. Jessica Simpson was the opening act and yes she did forget the lyrics to one of her songs. She then admitted that she always forgets the lyrics to that one song at every concert. Then she went on to telling us that she isn't a real blond. I don't care what color your hair is, as an artist you should be able to remember the lyrics to the songs you write! Other than that, I am DEFINITELY going again when they come back!

I bought this for my hall bathroom to give it a little cheer. I found a new curtain that matched perfectly and I am going to hang some vinyl in there too. I am so proud of myself for doing this! And no Quilter Sal (mom-in-law) did not do this for me, but she did help:)

Emily and Charlotte

6:04 PM Sunday, February 22, 2009

I played around today with the girls. They loved having their very own photo shoot. Doesn't Charlotte just melt your heart with the curtsy? And Emily has eyes that just seem to glow in front of the camera. I do love my girls.

Hand Surgery

9:49 AM Friday, February 20, 2009

As many of you know I had surgery on my right hand yesterday. I had tendinitis in my wrist that hurt like a motha' and after 2 cortisone shots, we decided to get it fixed. This is me checking in at 6:30am and looking lovely.

Getting my blood pressure taken and making sure my heart won't stop during the surgery.
For some reason they like their patients in a gown and hat for every surgery. Never mind the fact that they were working on my hand.

I am so scared I might do something embarrassing while I'm out!

Giving me the IV so they can drug me up!

This is my surgery nurse who really was kind of ornery.

My nurse anesthetist (the guy who put me out)

Dr. Zeluff, my surgeon. He is super nice! He is marking my hand making sure he operates on the correct hand. Whew!

Taking me away to the great unknown. Johnny waited for me in the waiting room and was quit anxious while I was in there. What a sweet husband!

I was in recovery and sleeping off the Versaid. That stuff is fabulous and I really need some of this at home for my kids!

My hand is going to be all better, but man does it hurt. Thank you to all of you who called and offered help or well wishes.

Where's William?

11:51 AM Wednesday, February 18, 2009

William was hiding from Emily the other morning and she walked into the room to find this. She yelled for us to come see what she found and I had to get a picture. We asked where he was and he kept saying, " I no?" He is so funny and loves to entertain.

Emily had a friend come over to our house yesterday and we dipped some strawberries in chocolate. Emily did this in one of her cooking classes, so we gave it a whirl. The girls loved it and they tasted so yummy.

Emily's a cookin' fool!

3:36 PM Tuesday, February 17, 2009

Emily was able to use her Christmas gift this past week and go to some cooking classes. The first one was a Chocolate Lovers class where they dipped Strawberries and grapes, made biscotti (yummy) and made some truffles. She had so much fun that she and Papa made the biscotti for the family and she did great! I am so proud of her and her new cooking skills.
The next class she went to was on Presidents Day and she was there for 3 hours! They made Mac n' Cheese, Fettucine Alfredo (which we are having for dinner tonight), cookies, and cake. They made the noodles, sauce, cake, frosting, and everything else and had a ton of fun doing it. Char and I went to pick her up and once again she couldn't just sit and watch so she went on up to the table and starting begging like a little puppy. She loved sitting there with the big kids and eating what her sister had helped make.

Don't these look yummy? John and Sally bought us a new Artisan bread cookbook and John made these for us. They were soooo delicious and John made it look so easy to make. Can't wait to have them again when they visit!

I know you have been wondering where we have been and we have been busy. John's parents came into town last week and we had a BLAST! They got here on Feb. 7 and the fun didn't stop until they left on Sunday. Actually the fun stopped for me on Wednesday evening of last week due to me getting sick until Sunday night. Other than that, lots of fun to be had at our house. We were able to get John and Sally (the in-laws) tickets to the first play of the year at Hale Center Theater, Cash on Delivery. It was HILARIOUS!! I was so glad they could see one of the plays at our favorite play house. My John and his dad did some projects around the house, played with the kids, and just about debated every topic under the sun, which is totally normal. Sally enjoyed some time to knit, play with the kiddos, crafts and shopping. We love every second we get with them and can't wait to see them again in a long 8 months in South Carolina this October.
P.S. The kids thought this was the best thing ever! William would say, "up" and Papa would put him on his head and Will would reach up to the ceiling. Of course Char had to get in on the action, can't let little brother have fun and not partake.
